A very similar nose configuration to ‘666’s. The left window would have been beyond the navigator’s table, not over it, and Zeamer’s .50 would be on the floor to the left of the bombardier’s chair. On 16 June 1943, Sarnoski was on the left gun, Johnston the right.

A painting of the interior of a B-17E nose compartment with a similar arrangement of windows and guns as ‘666.
The latest blog post gives an update on my forthcoming novel Above and Beyond and includes two excerpts focusing on Jay Zeamer and Joe Sarnoski during the period before they reunited in the 43rd BG. Find it and other stories related to the Eager Beavers' time in the SW Pacific, or go straight to it by clicking here.
